Dr Wendy Lawson

Wendy Lawson is an adult with high functioning autism. As a child she was considered to be intellectually disabled, and 'almost incapable of doing as she was told'. Today, as a mother of four, a qualified counsellor, social worker and psychologist with a PhD, Wendy is well-known and respected for her writing and seminars based on her research and her own personal experiences as a person with autism.

Wendy was awarded four place as 'Australian of the Year' in 2008. She has written 9 books varying from her autobiography to an everyday text on autism. Her strong personality and sense of humour make her seminars hugely popular throughout the world.

Course Content:

Wendy's presentation explores autism spectrum, social demand and how to bridge some of the gaps so individuals with an ASD can truly be involved with an inclusive society. Wendy discusses how individuals with autism learn, and offers practical strategies to assist their learning. 

Who should attend?

Teachers, Teacher Aides, SENCOs, School Principals, RTLBs, SLTs, OTs, GSE Staff, Psychologists, Paediatricians, other Service Providers, Families and individuals with an ASD.

Registrations can be made online, by fax to 06 845 2607, or by post on official registration forms only. If registering online you may make payment via credit card, direct credit, or post a cheque. If registering by post, please complete and mail with your payment to Creating Success, 1/66 Nalanda Crescent, Broadmeadows, Wellington 6035.

All registrations will be confirmed by email (or post where email is not supplied) once payment has been received.

Numbers will be limited for each seminar so early registration is recommended.
